The GR-AIN Water System: Diagram

The GR-AIN Water System consists of several stages:

  1. The rain water is collected from the gutters and grey water from sinks, washing machines, bathtubs, showers, refridgerators, and anything else that is not considered sewage.
  2. The collected water travels through pipes on a gravity system to a water treatment location in the house's lowest floor.
  3. Water treatment includes 3 steps:
    1. Filtration and Preparation (Prep and Filter) - Water is run through small filters to remove large objects. Also, the pH is neutralized and the water is clarified with chemicals.
    2. Ozone Treatment (O3 Gen.) - Ozone is generated with air passing through UV light. The ozone is a very powerful purification agent, which can kill viruses, bacteria and anything else living in the water. Ozone forms bubbles throughout the water, and then eventually forms back into regular oxygen.
    3. Granular Activated Carbon Filtration (G.A.C.F.) - To remove any remaining solids or pollutants, the water is run through a granular activated carbon filter, which leaves the water clean and clear.
  4. The water then travels to the clean water storage container underground for storage until water is needed.
  5. The water is automatically pumped out and reused around the house and garden when needed.
