
Ten Don Bosco Prep Students Sign Letters of Intent for Winter and Spring Sports

November 10, 2011- -- Don Bosco Prep held a special signing event on November 9, in honor of National Signing Day for the ten students who received and signed letters of intent from colleges and universities.
Matthew Dacey has committed to attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, in the fall. At Don Bosco Prep, Matt is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and the National Spanish Honor Society. In addition, he is a math tutor and a Big Brother. He is the son of Joan and Bill Dacey of Wyckoff, New Jersey, and is a first baseman on the Ironmen Baseball Team.
George Iskendarian has accepted a scholarship to attend the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. In addition to being a Student Ambassador, George will be raising funds for Tomorrows Children and Hits for Hope next season. He is the son of Viken and Angela Iskendarian of Englewood, New Jersey, and is a short stop for the Don Bosco Prep Baseball Ironmen.
Steven Lombardi has accepted a scholarship to attend Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. Steve is a Big Brother, a Student Ambassador, and likes to snow board as a winter sport. He is the son of Steven and Karen Lombardi of Saddle River, New Jersey, and is a pitcher for the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen Baseball Team.
Michael Mecca has committed to attend Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania. A centerfielder for the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen, Mike is also a Student Ambassador ,and a member of the Italian National Honor Society and the Italian Club. He is a Captain of the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen Baseball Team. He is the son of Michael Mecca and Caryn De Pasquale of Ridgefield, New Jersey.
Joseph Purritano has signed a letter of intent with Dartmouth University, Hanover, New Hampshire. At Don Bosco Prep, he is a member of the National Honor Society and the Italian Club. An honor roll student, he is a first baseman on the Don Bosco Prep Baseball Team and has coached baseball for his town recreation program. Joseph is the son of Mary and Joseph Purritano of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.
Grant Van Orden has committed to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He is a member of the National, Math and Italian Honor Societies, and is a Student Ambassador, Math Tutor and Volunteer Firefighter for Town of Wyckoff, NJ. He received the gold math award for Algebra II as well as an outstanding community service award. He will be participating in the school's youth ministry trip to Nicaragua, plays third base and is a Captain of the baseball team. Grant is the son of Gregg and Lori Van Orden of Wyckoff, New Jersey.
Salvatore Mastriani has signed a letter of intent with Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia. A Student Ambassador as well as a football player, Sal is a wrestler on the Don Bosco Prep Wrestling Team. He is the son of Salvatore and Jennifer Mastriani of Towaco, New Jersey.
Alexander Henthorn has committed to attend Virginia Military Academy, Lexington, Virginia. An attacker on the Don Bosco Prep Lacrosse Team, Andrew is a Student Ambassador and a member of the football team. He is the son of Keith and Louise Henthorn of Ridgewood, New Jersey.
John Petzold has signed a letter of intent with Fairfield University of Fairfield, Connecticut. A defenseman on the Don Bosco Prep Lacrosse Team he is also a member of the soccer club. John is the son of John and Lisa Petzold of Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Andrew Neggia has signed a letter of intent with Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island. A member of the Don Bosco Prep Swim Team, Andrew swam for five years on the Radburn Swim Team in Fair Lawn. He is the son of Alan and Julia Neggia of Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
