Spirit Week Pits Grade Levels in Competitive Olympiad
On Tuesday, January 24, faculty members dressed in togas and carrying candles proclaimed the beginning of the annual Spirit Week games, a week of fun held during last period in the gym.
Starting off with an Olympic relay obstacle course, students jumped hurdles, rounded a baseball bat with their foreheads, and avoided seniors blocking the way to the finish line. Freshmen, dressed in blue, represented the Greek city of Athens, sophomores in white represented Olympia, juniors in black were Trojans, and seniors in red were Spartans all cheered for their grades' representatives.
Daily competitions included a dance-off, talent show, pie-eating contest and strong man feats led up the grand finale on January 31, the Feast of St. John Bosco, the patron saint of Don Bosco Prep, which included a Mass for students, faculty and alumni.
