• HSPT Entrance Exam

  The High School Placement Test (historically referred to as the COOP Exam) is the Catholic High School Entrance Exam administered by the Archdiocese of Newark and the Diocese of Paterson.
  
  Registration for the HSPT can be done starting in September 2021 by visiting www.njcoopexam.org.
  
  Don Bosco Prep will host the exam. Our code is 807.
  
  

• School Transcripts

  Transcripts should include all grades as well as standardized test results from 6th grade, 7th grade, and the 1st marking period of 8th grade. The applicant’s school may require a release of records form, which may be downloaded below ("9th Grade Applicant Record"). This expedites the process and saves you time. Please instruct the guidance counselor or principal to send the transcripts before the deadline of December 10, 2021. If your school is on a trimester that ends after December 10, please have those transcripts sent immediately after the close of term as well as inform our Admissions office.

  The current 8th grade English/ Language Arts Teacher Letter of Recommendation template is available electronically through the applicant's Class of 2026 Online Application Checklist. Please complete the online application and utilize the electronic letter of recommendation feature.
  This is a required step.

• Current 8th Grade Mathematics Teacher Letter of Recommendation

  The current 8th Grade Mathematics Teach Letter of Recommendation template is available electronically through the applicant's Class of 2026 Online Application Checklist. Please complete the online application and utilize the electronic letter of recommendation feature.

• General Letter of Recommendation

  Letters of Recommendation are a great way for us to learn more about prospective students. 
  
  A general Letter of Recommendation template is available electronically through the applicant's Class of 2026 Online Application Checklist. Please complete the online application and utilize the electronic letter of recommendation feature.
  
  Each candidate should submit a Letter of Recommendation 
  from their current Math and English teachers. Also, we encourage applicants to obtain letters from any extracurricular activities that they are involved in.

• Savio Academic Scholarship Assessment

  The Savio Academic Scholarship is the most prestigious merit based scholarship awarded to students applying for the freshmen class.
  
  In addition to the required steps in the Don Bosco Prep application process (Online Application, Transcripts, Letters of Recommendation), students wishing to be considered for a Savio Scholarship must also submit a written assessment. 
  
  The Savio Scholarship criteria for the Class of 2026 will be made available in November 2021.

• Preliminary Financial Aid Estimate (PFAE) - Optional

  Prospective students applying to Don Bosco Prep are now able to apply for financial aid earlier than in previous years. This will allow 8th grade applicants to receive a preliminary financial aid estimate in their acceptance packets. Click here for more information. Please make sure to complete BOTH steps in the process. The online application + submission of the 2020 Federal Tax Returns are needed for review.
