DBP Introduces New Pathway!
Don Bosco Prep is proud to announce that it will be adding a Communication Arts Pathway to its curriculum, beginning in the 2019-20 academic year.

A pathway allows a student to take elective courses over four years in a specific area of study. For the Communication Arts Pathway, students can begin in ninth grade taking Multi-Media Production, which focuses on the basics of tv and film production, including scripting, producing, filming, editing, and exporting and uploading projects. Basic industry standards vocabulary will be used and taught. Subsequent courses in the pathway will include TV/Film Production and Editing: Process and Principles, followed by TV/Film Production and Editing I, and then TV/Film Production II.

It is exciting to expand our curriculum to align with the interests of our students, who enthusiastically embrace the knowledge and talents of our Media Specialist, Jenna Vrablic,” said Ms. Laura Hollenbaugh, Vice Principal for Academic Affairs. “This structured pathway will allow students to explore communication arts more fully, and we are confident that these courses will facilitate the development of essential 21st Century skills and expose students to meaningful, real-world experiences in the field.

The DBP Media Club is already an active presence on campus, producing morning announcements and promotional videos, live streaming campus activities, and hosting various industry events. Recently, junior Mike Marian interviewed Jay Dabhi, Program Director of Pitbull’s Globalization on SIRIUS XMand also the Assistant Program Director of 92.3 FM, alternative rock station. Marian hosted a Q&A session with Dabhi, which was followed by a DJ demonstration for the students. Click  https://youtu.be/ZYqPbw3EqoY to view the full interview.
