Last Friday the DBP school community held its third Betterment Day. Betterment Days are held during first period on selected Fridays, led by students with the purpose of enhancing leadership roles for others in and out of school.
The freshmen class held small discussion groups with their Big Brothers focusing on sections of the book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens”. The sophomores were led in small groups by SALT team members discussing issues related to respect in school and the community.
The Junior class worked with the Guidance department to set up and discuss Naviance to help prepare them for their college search. And the seniors were treated to a Christmas breakfast in Savio Hall.
The day ended with a beautiful prayer service prepared by Youth Ministry, and accompanied by the DBP Chorus and Band. The students and faculty, who had a ugly sweater "dress down" day to support the Haiti mission trip, were even treated to a sing-along with Santa!
