Congratulations to the Don Bosco Prep Junior for earning a spot in the playoffs of the FIRST Robotics Competition Mid-Atlantic District Hatboro-Horsham Competition over the weekend.
Because the Junior Varsity robot is made up of freshmen and sophomores only, and because it competes in competitions with varsity teams from other schools, the JV team employs a complimentary strategy which was in full effect over the weekend.
Even though the JV team went only 3-9 in the preliminary rounds, the team was selected by the number two seed to be an alliance partner (robots compete in alliances of three) because the Number 2 seed recognized the strong complimentary capabilities of the JV robot.
Unfortunately, the number two seed toppled over on the platform in one of the matches, and the alliance lost the first playoff round 1-2 to the number seven seed.
