New Students Application Process

RISING FRESHMAN
Don Bosco Prep offers students a beautiful open campus with state-of-the-art technology in which to learn and grow.  Students who wish to apply to Don Bosco Prep as Freshman should fill out all the forms below.

  • New Students Application

    The application will be made available starting Monday, September 17, 2018. All Class of 2023 applicants are required to complete the online application in its entirety.
    The Class of 2023 application can be accessed HERE

    There is no application fee.  The deadline to submit the completed Admissions Application is Friday, December 21, 2018.

    All decisions will be mailed on Thursday, January 10, 2019 and emailed on Friday, January 11, 2019.

  • HSPT Entrance Exam

    The High School Placement Test (historically referred to as the COOP Exam) is the Catholic High School Entrance Exam administered by the Archdiocese of Newark and the Diocese of Paterson. All 8th grade applicants for the Class of 2023 are required to sit for the HSPT exam on Friday, November 9, 2018. Don Bosco Prep is a hosting site for the exam. Our code is 807.

  • School Transcripts

    Transcripts should include all grades as well as standardized test results from 6th grade, 7th grade, and the 1st marking period of 8th grade. The applicant’s school may require a release of records form, which may be downloaded below ("9th Grade Applicant Record"). This expedites the process and saves you time. Please instruct the guidance counselor or principal to send the transcripts before the deadline of December 21, 2018. If your school is on a tri-mester that ends after December 21, please have those transcripts sent immediately after the close of term as well as inform our Admission's office.

  • General Letter of Recommendation

    Letters of Recommendation  are a way for us 
    to learn more about prospective students. 

    Each candidate should submit a Letter of Recommendation 
    from their current Math and English teachers. Also, we encourage applicants to obtain letters from any extracurricular activities that they are involved in. 
  • Preliminary Financial Aid Estimate (PFAE) - Optional

    Prospective students applying to Don Bosco Prep are now able to apply for financial aid earlier than in previous years. This will allow 8th grade applicants to receive a preliminary financial aid estimate in their acceptance packets. Click here for more information. Please make sure to complete BOTH steps in the process. The online application + submition of the 2016 Tax Return are needed for review.

Transfer Students Application Process

MID-YEAR TRANSFERS
Students transferring into Don Bosco Prep during the school year will start on the quarter breaks. This allows for a smoother transition for the student as well as our staff.
November 5, 2018- start of the 2nd quarter
January 22, 2019- start of the 3rd quarter

END OF YEAR TRANSFER APPLICATION PROCESS
BEGINS MARCH 2019
Thank you for expressing an interest in applying to Don Bosco Prep as a transfer student. Although students typically enter Don Bosco Prep as incoming freshmen (9th graders), we reserve the right to consider prospective transfer students entering their sophomore (10th grade) or junior (11th grade) year. We rarely make exceptions for applicants entering their senior (12th grade) year.
