L.E.O. students learn about leadership and business from veteran entrepreneur, Benjamin Gaines.
On March 10th, entrepreneur Benjamin Gaines presented to Mr. Esposito's L.E.O. class. Benjamin is the co-founder of Jackpot Data Science Group. He has a wealth of experience consulting top-tier financial firms & government agencies on developing and implementing digital transformation strategies to better use data to support their objectives. Prior to co-founding Jackpot, he served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, wherein he commanded Marine and Marine Special Operations teams in high-pressure environments throughout the world.
Through serving in the military and starting his own company, Benjamin has gained invaluable experience in both leadership and business and was able to share that with our students. He stressed the importance of taking time to study a problem before jumping to solutions. This is important in combat and in corporate environments. He introduced a framework for problem solving, encouraging our students to ask themselves questions and converse with each other. He also discussed different types of competition. Competition is inevitable, but it is those who can recognize their competition and successfully differentiate themselves that will succeed.
