B.E.S.T. PROGRAM UNDERWAY

Brothers Eagerly Serving Together
Don Bosco Prep’s B.E.S.T. (Brothers  Eagerly Serving Together) Program is in full swing this week. With a full slate of 15 current and incoming students, the program offers the boys a week of community service projects and team building exercises, aimed to teach them the importance and benefits of serving the community.

So far this week the boys have done a clean-up on campus, including painting the azebo and cleaning the Adam and Eve statue and around the grotto. Yesterday the group prepared and served lunch at the Newark Soup Kitchen with the Missionaries of Charity. Today they assisted the grammar school aged campers at Camp Echo Bay at Salesian High School in New Rochelle, NY, playing games and having fun. Afterwards the group assisted the school staff with cleaning out a storage garage and organizing the school books for the upcoming year. This afternoon they are preparing food and hygiene bags for tonight's Midnight Run into New York City.

Led by Br. Sasika, Mr. Friend, and Fr. Paul, the group begins each day with Mass and breakfast with the Salesian community. Some of the recreational activities have included a trip to an adventure room, ice cream walk, and pool party.

More activities are planned through Saturday. Stay tuned for more updates on their great work! See our Album on our Don Bosco Prep Official Facebook page for all of the week’s photos.
