Brian McAleer Named Director of Alumni Relations
Don Bosco Prep Names Brian McAleer Director of Alumni Relations
Mr. Robert Fazio, President of Don Bosco Prep, has announced that Mr. Brian McAleer has been named Director of Alumni Relations. McAleer will move from Director of Athletics to the Office of Institutional Advancement.
“Brian McAleer has demonstrated a level of excellence through his ability to put us on the national stage in his athletic role, and I believe he will be able to bring that skill set to Alumni Relations with the same enthusiasm and passion,” said Mr. Fazio.
McAleer has been a part of Don Bosco Prep’s administration for almost twenty years. “Brian has been a significant influence in the lives of students and their families at Don Bosco Prep, first as Director of Admissions for eleven years and then as Athletic Director for nine years,” said Fr. James Heuser, SDB, Director. “His natural gift for forming relationships and his connections to numerous alumni will be an asset for our Office of Advancement.”
The sudden death of Mr. Richard Wisniewski this past June, who was the Director of Alumni Relations for twenty years, has left a void in the Advancement Office. Don Bosco’s alumni base is over 12,000, and with Brian McAleer’s experience engaging the Don Bosco community and overall institutional knowledge, he is the best fit for the position.
“We know Brian McAleer can step in and enhance and further grow the Advancement Office,” said Mr. Fazio. “His strong relationship with the Don Bosco community will help us navigate through the loss and help us move in a positive direction.”
McAleer has helped raise the bar for the athletic program at Don Bosco and is highly respected for his accomplishments in New Jersey high school sports.
“It has been an honor to serve as the Director of Athletics since the fall of 2010,” McAleer said. “I am proud of what our coaches and student athletes have achieved during those years. High school athletics play a very large role in a young person’s life, and it has been an absolute privilege to help guide my coaches and most importantly the student athletes. I have made lifelong friendships with my coaches, student athletes and colleagues from the Big North Conference. I look forward to this new challenge and to assisting the Don Bosco Prep community in another capacity.”
