ROBOTICS QUALIFIES
Congratulations to the Ironmen Omega Robotics team which qualified for the FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship from the League Championship, held last weekend! Team members include seniors: Emerson Shatouhy, Stephen Davis, Michael G. Higgins, Lincoln Stewart, Christian Geramita, Liam Coster, CJ Gordon, Robert Norden and Antonio Russo. Also, congratulations to the Ironmen Rho Robotics team which took second place in the Collins Aerospace Innovate Award. Team members include freshmen Emmanuel Obe, Salvatore Noble, Joseph Valenza, Damon Crittendon, Drake Fung, Edmond Walsh, John DeLuca, John Tregidgo and Jack Banyra.
Congratulations is also in order to the Ironmen Omicron Robotics team which took third place in the Collins Aerospace Innovate Award. Team members include juniors Paul Celis, James Cosgrove, Vittorio Cuman, Colin Davidson, Daniel Fellenzer, Jonathan Layme, Juan Matos, Emmet O’Malley, Alex Stankiewicz and Anthony Tan.
In addition, Ironmen participated in the Remote League Championship over the weekend and two of our FTC (medium sized robot) teams qualified for the state championship which will be held on Sunday, June 13. Our senior team and our 8th grade team both qualified, based upon robot performance. In addition, three of our teams won awards. One of our freshman teams took second place in the Innovation Award and our junior team took 3rd place in the Innovation Award. The girl's team from IHA also took 3rd place in the Motivation Award. Congratulations to the students for all of their hard work. Thank you also goes to Fr. Lou Konopelski, SDB for his leadership and guidance to all of his students. These are all tremendous accomplishments!
