Paying it forward!
Mission Club members got together yesterday to make 300 Halloween goody bags for children at St. Gerard Majella grammar school in Paterson. The boys made some peanut-free bags for children with nut allergies, and these will be given out at the school’s Halloween party.
The club has a special bond with the school and it’s principal, Sr. Jo-Ann Pompa. The relationship between Don Bosco Prep and St. Gerard Majella began about eight years ago because one of the Mission Club members, Enrique Lacaros '11, had attended the grammar school, and shared its needs with the Club. In the past we have provided school supplies at the beginning of the school year and Halloween and Valentine's Day treat bags for all the students.
On a separate note, all proceeds from the Mission Club’s cookie sales so far this year will go to buy gift cards for five families in New Bern, NC who lost everything in Hurricane Florence.
