As the new semester begins, we welcome in the second cohort of the L.E.O. Program. Twenty four Juniors, who applied and interviewed for entrance into the Program, began the day with their new teacher, Mr. John Esposito, reviewing the upcoming year.
Mr. Esposito started off the class discussing Leonidas “Leo” Vagias, a member of DBP’s Class of 2015, for whom the program is named. The L.E.O. Program focuses on Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Opportunity.
Mr. Esposito introduced the students to class goals, objectives, and technology used to support the class, setting the tone for a start-up, business-like atmosphere.
“Students in this program have a goal,” Mr. Esposito told the class, “to educate themselves on how to be leaders, with a social conscience. It’s going to be a challenge, you will have to think outside the box, but it all comes together, and it works.”
