Don Bosco Prep offers a variety of exciting summer programs. The summer is a great opportunity for students to enhance and develop current interests or discover new ones.

All of our summer programs have a healthy balance of skill development, fun activities, and social interaction. We look forward to having you spend time at Bosco this summer!

~ Boys & Girls Entering Grades 7-12 In Public, Private or Parochial Schools ~

Students will be introduced to some basic cooking techniques, knife cutting skills, and the art of cooking healthy!

Students will learn how to cook egg and breakfast, stocks and soup-making, simple sauces, sald dressings, cooking pasta and rice and more!

~ Invitation Only ~

The Algebra I Enrichment Program will review critical Algebra skills and help prepare students for taking Honors Math at DBP.

~ Varied Age Groups ~

The DB Sports Camps is a summer program providing practice and trainings from various sports programs run by elite coaches and trainers.

From Baseball to Soccer, Basketball, Football and Lacrosse, DB Sports Camps is an active summer program for all ages! Check each program's website for age and other requirements.

~ Boys & Girls Entering Grades 7-12 ~

Students will learn to use their wit and think on their feet to create original characters and build scenes in the world of improv. Improv enhances life and leadership skills such as listening, eye contact, working in agreement, adapting quickly, and more.

This intensive will culminate in a live show on August 23rd, where students will demonstrate their "Yes, And" attitude as they take audience suggestions and create original material on the spot.

~ DBP Students Entering 12th Grade ~

The College Boot Camp is designed to assist rising seniors through the college application process.

The program is organized and led by the Don Bosco Prep Guidance Office.

~ Incoming DBP Freshmen ~

The 9th Grade Prep Program is a wonderful way for incoming students to become better acclimated to Don Bosco Prep.

The program assures a smooth transition from 8th grade to freshman year as an Ironman.

~ Boys & Girls Entering Grades 7-12 In Public, Private or Parochial Schools ~

The Don Bosco Entrepreneurship Camp will be a hands-on learning experience designed to guide participants in becoming the owner of a real small business.

This unique program incorporates a variety of educational training techniques including classroom instruction, interactive activities, and field trips to local businesses.

This Summer DBP will offer a great opportunity for students to enhance and develop their interests or discover new ones!

~ Boys & Girls Entering Grades 7-11 In Public, Private or Parochial Schools ~

Students will learn how to create pixel art and character design. Through the use of Piskel, students will create various backgrounds, characters, and the corresponding animations.

Students will then take their creations and apply a number of different interactions to them, ranging from movement and physics to carrying and equipping items. When complete, students will test their creation.

~ Boys & Girls Entering 6th, 7th or 8th Grade In Public, Private or Parochial Schools ~

This program is a combination of a robotics class and a robotics camp.

Each student receives a textbook and the use of a robot kit. Each day begins with about an hour of class, after which the students build and program a robot to meet the 2018 FIRST LEGO Into Orbit
Challenge.

This will prepare the students for the 2019 challenge, which will be released in August.

~ Boys & Girls Entering 8th Grade In Public, Private or Parochial Schools ~

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) Prep Program focuses on preparing rising 8th graders to take the HSPT Exam, which is the standardized test given in November 2019 by the Archdiocese of Newark and Paterson.

This exam is part of the admission process into Catholic High Schools.

~ Boys & Girls Entering 6th, 7th and 8th Grade In Public, Private or Parochial Schools ~

This program will afford students the opportunity to get a head start in their knowledge of lab equipment and lab safety as well as experience labs that cover areas in Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics and Anatomy and Physiology.

In four short weeks, students will gain a tremendous advantage in the STEM field by adding these prerequisite skills to their resume.

~ Boys & Girls Entering 11th and 12th Grade ~

The ACT Prep Program summer readiness course is designed to help high school students improve their ACT score.

Students will take at least two full length practice tests in class in order to prepare for the rigors of taking the 4-hour test.

~ Boys & Girls Entering Grades 7-12 ~

Students will learn video production and post-production processes from pre-production to final output.

Students will create their own projects, hear from guest speakers, network with experienced media executives, and showcase their work at the end of each session's "Launch Party".

~ Incoming DBP Freshmen and Current DBP Students ~

Each day is filled with about 6 hours worth of work; we work hard but play harder during the week! After dinner every night students will participate in games, outings and social events. After all, it still is summer vacation!

This B.E.S.T. program is run by the Youth Ministry Office of Don Bosco Prep.
