FACULTY: DBP Seeks An Anticipated Chorus Teacher
Candidates should have education and experience as a Chorus Teacher in high school.  NJ certification as a school Chorus Teacher or equivalent preferred. 

The Chorus Teacher is responsible for leading and developing a vibrant choral program that supports both the musical and community life of the school. This role involves preparing students for a variety of performances while fostering vocal technique, musical literacy, and a positive ensemble culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct weekly chorus rehearsals held after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  • Prepare students for major performances, including the Winter Concert and Spring Concert

  • Organize and lead musical selections for school liturgies, sports events, and other special occasions

  • Teach proper vocal technique, sight-reading skills, and ensemble performance practices

  • Select appropriate and engaging repertoire that reflects a range of styles and skill levels

  • Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and growth

  • Coordinate performance logistics, including scheduling, communication, and collaboration with school staff

  • Maintain high expectations for student behavior, attendance, and commitment

Qualifications:

  • Background in music education, vocal performance, or a related field

  • Experience directing choral ensembles (school or community-based preferred)

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to motivate and engage students of varying musical abilities

  • Familiarity with liturgical music (preferred, if applicable to the school setting)

Time Commitment:

  • Rehearsals: Twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays after school)

  • Additional time required for performances and special events throughout the school year during some evenings.

This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about choral music and enjoys building a dynamic program that enhances school spirit and community engagement.

Candidates should have education and experience in teaching high school Math.  NJ certification in high school Math Teacher or equivalent preferred.  Ideal candidates will have experience with differentiation, authentic assessment, project-based learning, and infusion of technology in their instructional methods.

High School Theater Program Director – Employment Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Theater Program Director to join our high school faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, foster student growth, and build a strong, collaborative theater program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching three theater classes to students at varying skill levels

  • Designing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards

  • Assessing and grading student performance and progress

  • Directing the school’s fall play and spring musical productions

  • Produce and facilitate all events and activities within the DBP Theater Arts season (Fall Play, Spring Musical, 24-Hour Playfest, Ironman Improv Troupe shows, Student-led Production, International Thespian Honor Society, and Performing Arts Cabaret) 

  • Supervising after-school and evening rehearsals as required

Qualifications:

  • Experience in theater education and event production 

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and the school community

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
